Training Body & Mind

Ethan Minor has been in the world of Martial Arts his whole life. As a second generation practitioner, training began as a child under the instruction of Great Grand Master U Maung Gyi, founder of the American Bando Association (ABA). His father's guidance produced an adolescence and young adulthood that was filled with competition in Lethwei, Muay Thai, and American Kickboxing tournaments around the globe.

Ethan currently holds a 6th degree black belt in the ABA. His experience as a soldier in the Ohio Army National Guard and further training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Capoeira, Kali, and Krav Maga all led him to discover the Russian art of Systema. Over the last 8 years Ethan has dedicated his training to embodying the principles of Systema in an endless quest to know thyself, to love thy enemy, and to be at one with the battle/field.

Ethan believes that the human experience is a journey of discovering one's own potential, one's limits, and one's loves. It is this pursuit of self-discovery that can lead ultimately to self-mastery. No matter where one's path begins, the destination lies at the top of the mountain from where reality can be viewed with great perspective and our place in the world becomes apparent. This journey is aided by guides in the form of teachers, friends, and even our perceived "enemies." By disciplining our bodies and our minds we become open to learning from these guides as they appear in our lives.

Ethan carries on the traditions of his guides as he helps guide others on that journey to the top of the mountain.
